Provider handoff

Seven repairs to complete first

This section can be handed directly to the current SEO or website provider. Open the evidence links, make the listed change, then use the completion test before marking the item finished.

Use this
Ask the provider to respond beside every item with: completion date, changed URL, before/after screenshot, and the verification result. “Optimized” is not a completion result.
01

Make the homepage an Edinburg page

Fix the city conflict between the website and the physical location.

Do first

Open the evidence

The live homepage title and H1 lead with McAllen. The same page lists 4925 Murillo Street in Edinburg.

Make these changes

  • Suggested title: AC Repair Edinburg TX | Cool Aid Air Conditioning
  • Suggested H1: Fast AC Repair in Edinburg, TX
  • Use Edinburg in the opening paragraph, local proof, contact block, and primary internal links.
  • Keep McAllen on its own page. Do not present a McAllen office.
  • Render one H1, not the current duplicate pair.

Consider it done when

The live title, single H1, first paragraph, schema address, and GBP landing page all agree on Edinburg. The title stays near 50–60 characters.

02

Recover the old URLs Google still knows

Redirect or restore removed pages instead of leaving search visitors on 404s.

Do first

Open the errors

These URLs still appear in search records and return 404 today.

Make these changes

  • /faqs/ → direct 301 to /ac-repair-faqs.
  • /mcallen-tx/ → direct 301 to the approved McAllen page.
  • Restore /san-juan-tx/ if its former content or links have value. Do not redirect it to an unrelated homepage by default.
  • Map /air-conditioning-repair/ directly to the final Edinburg AC repair URL.
  • Export every 404 and linked legacy URL from Search Console before declaring the migration finished.

Consider it done when

Every approved old URL returns one 301 to a relevant 200 page, with no redirect chain. Search Console validation is started and the replacement URLs are in the sitemap.

03

Remove the 16.2 MB homepage video

Fix the largest measurable speed problem before adjusting minor scripts.

Do first

Open the evidence

The August 10 mobile test scored 63. The page transferred 17.6 MB and one Getty video used about 16.2 MB.

Make these changes

  • Replace the autoplay hero video with a compressed real Cool Aid image and explicit width/height.
  • Keep one lead form on the page instead of loading duplicate form and reCAPTCHA code.
  • Lazy-load below-the-fold images.
  • Convert photos to WebP or AVIF at their actual display dimensions.
  • Retest after each high-impact change.

Consider it done when

Mobile Lighthouse reaches 80+, LCP is under 2.5 seconds, Total Blocking Time is under 200 ms, and transferred page weight is below 3 MB.

04

Clean up the valid LocalBusiness schema

The markup passes both validators, but two identity fields still need correction.

Week 1

Open the evidence

Google found one valid item, and Schema.org returned zero errors and zero warnings. That confirms eligibility. It does not make every value useful. The image is a broken concatenated URL, and the @id uses an unrelated generated domain. priceRange is optional, so its notice is not an error.

Make these changes

  • Use the more specific HVACBusiness type.
  • Use https://coolaidairconditioning.com/#business as the stable @id.
  • Replace the image value with a crawlable HTTPS photo or logo hosted on the Cool Aid domain.
  • Add addressCountry: US.
  • Keep the current canonical HTTPS url, phone, coordinates, and verified hours.
  • Add only approved social profiles and service areas. Do not add fields just to make the block longer.

Consider it done when

Both validators still pass, the schema image opens successfully, the @id is domain-based, and the NAP and hours match the visible page and GBP.

05

Resolve the public address conflicts

Approve one public NAP, then clean true duplicates without changing valid mailing records.

Week 1–2

Open the evidence

Public records show Murillo, Timberwood, Upas, and a vendor mailing address. The phone remains consistent.

Make these changes

  • Get written approval for the public business name, 4925 Murillo St address, and 956-784-2496 phone.
  • Merge or suppress the extra Yellow Pages listings at Timberwood and Upas.
  • Update stale directory records in a tracked citation sheet.
  • Label the TIPS PMB address as mailing/vendor data if it is legitimate. Do not overwrite it blindly.
  • Track login, submission date, live date, and final URL for every correction.

Consider it done when

The main local directories show one approved public NAP. Remaining alternate addresses have a documented business reason or a pending suppression case.

06

Clean the live page set and finish Edinburg services

Correct the existing 200 pages before adding more cities.

Weeks 2–4

Open the pages

The table below links to every live page and names its first repair. The current sitemap has nine website URLs.

Make these changes

  • Rename /services-%7C-installations-1 to a clean final slug and add one direct 301.
  • Align titles and H1s on schedule, financing, FAQ, and privacy pages.
  • Build the Edinburg service hub: AC repair first, then installation, maintenance, heating repair, and commercial refrigeration based on demand and revenue.
  • Use real jobs, photos, license, warranties, and service details. Avoid swapped-city copies.
  • Add live blog posts to a working XML sitemap and HTML blog index.

Consider it done when

Every indexable page has one purpose, one title/H1 pair, a clean canonical URL, an internal link from the site, and a place in the correct sitemap. Edinburg is complete before another city launches.

07

Verify the Google profile and prove every lead path

Do not change the public primary category without checking the dashboard.

Week 1

Open the evidence

The public category already reads “Air conditioning repair service.” The August 12 Maps pull returned 37 results without Cool Aid in the set.

Make these changes

  • Confirm profile status is Published and check all owned accounts for duplicates.
  • Keep “Air conditioning repair service” primary unless the dashboard shows something different. Review secondary categories, services, hours, and city list.
  • Add a UTM-tagged website link and appointment link.
  • Test call, quote, schedule, and financing actions on mobile Safari, mobile Chrome, and desktop.
  • Confirm each form reaches the correct inbox and every click records in GA4.

Consider it done when

The profile is published, duplicate review is documented, services are complete, UTM traffic appears in analytics, and test calls/forms can be traced from click to receipt.

The short version

Google is receiving three different location stories

The business is based in Edinburg. The homepage leads with McAllen. Several public directories still show former or alternate addresses. Reviews are strong enough to win, but the supporting signals do not agree.

Website

Homepage leads with McAllen

The live title and H1 both target McAllen even though the address on the same page is 4925 Murillo Street in Edinburg.

Google Business Profile

Edinburg address, correct public primary category

The public profile shows “Air conditioning repair service.” Profile status, secondary categories, services, and duplicates still require dashboard access.

Citations

Three addresses appear in public listings

4925 Murillo St, 3601 Timberwood Dr, and 705 Upas Ave appear with the same phone. A separate vendor record uses another mailing address.

RankRGV assessment

This is a repair-and-realign job, not an automatic rebuild.

We would keep the current site long enough to fix the Edinburg signals, recover lost URLs, repair the schema, and remove the largest speed bottleneck. If GoDaddy blocks direct redirects, clean structured data, or acceptable mobile performance, we document that limit and make a migration decision with evidence.

Technical findings

What is blocking progress

Each issue below includes the evidence and the change we would make. Priority is based on ranking risk, lead impact, and whether later work depends on the fix.

CriticalHighMediumPass
Critical

Old ranking URLs were removed without 301 redirects

Google still surfaces legacy pages for FAQs, McAllen, San Juan, and Edinburg AC repair. All four sampled URLs return 404 today. Those pages had useful service content and may have earned links or search history before the current rebuild.

VERIFIED LIVE 2026-08-12: /faqs/ · /mcallen-tx/ · /san-juan-tx/ · /air-conditioning-repair/ → 404
RankRGV changeExport all indexed and linked legacy URLs from Google Search Console, backlinks, and search results. Map every valuable URL to the closest current page with a direct 301. Restore a page when no relevant destination exists.
Critical

The homepage targets McAllen while the business is based in Edinburg

The title is “AC Repair McAllen TX,” the H1 says “McAllen’s Trusted AC Repair Experts,” and the body later states the company is based in Edinburg. This weakens website-to-GBP alignment in the city where proximity gives Cool Aid its best map opportunity.

LIVE HOMEPAGE: 2 H1 elements · 64-character title · 168-character description
RankRGV changeMake Edinburg the homepage’s primary location in the title, H1, first paragraph, proof blocks, and internal links. Keep McAllen as a separate city page after Edinburg is stable.
High

The homepage schema passes validation but uses poor identity fields

Google detected one valid LocalBusiness item, and Schema.org returned zero errors and zero warnings. The block is eligible. Its image still begins with http://coolaidairconditioning.com/https://, and the @id points to an unrelated generated domain. Those values should be cleaned up even though the validators accept them.

VERIFIED AUG. 12: Google 1 valid item + optional priceRange notice · Schema.org 0 errors / 0 warnings
RankRGV changeKeep the valid business facts, change the type to HVACBusiness, replace the image with a crawlable first-party HTTPS image, use a stable domain-based @id, and add addressCountry: US. Leave priceRange out unless the business can state it meaningfully.
Critical

A 16.2 MB hero video drives most of the page weight

The August 10 mobile test transferred 17.6 MB total. One Getty hero video accounted for roughly 16.2 MB. The page reached a 3.6-second LCP, 750 ms of blocking time, and 14.3 seconds to interactive. The same video URL remains in the live homepage source.

LIGHTHOUSE: Performance 63 · LCP 3.6s · TBT 750ms · TTI 14.3s · main-thread work 10.6s
RankRGV changeReplace the autoplay video with a compressed local image or short, poster-first media asset. Load one quote form, defer nonessential scripts, compress every image, and retest on mobile.
High

The rebuild dropped the stronger old site architecture

The live sitemap contains nine pages, including privacy, financing, and contact pages. There are no dedicated current pages for AC maintenance, heating repair, commercial refrigeration repair, emergency repair, or core Edinburg services. Search still remembers older versions of some of these pages.

CURRENT SITEMAP: 9 pages · 8 of 9 flagged for low content rate in rendered crawl
RankRGV changeBuild an Edinburg service hub first. Recover useful facts from legacy pages, rewrite them around the current business, and connect them with clear internal links. Do not publish thin city copies.
High

The sitemap misses live blog content

The blog article about AC coil replacement returns 200 and appears in search, but it is absent from the website sitemap. The secondary sitemap.ola.xml currently lists only the domain root, not the article.

LIVE URL: /f/what-happens-during-an-ac-coil-replacement → 200, canonical self
RankRGV changeConfirm all useful posts are discoverable through an HTML blog index and XML sitemap. Add internal links from each article to a matching Edinburg service page and conversion action.
High

Citation duplicates and old addresses split local trust

Yellow Pages surfaces listings at 3601 Timberwood Dr, 4925 Murillo St, and 705 Upas Ave in McAllen with the same phone. BuildZoom still uses Timberwood. A TIPS vendor record uses 2330 E Freddy Gonzalez Dr PMB 54, which may be a valid mailing address and should be classified before editing.

PUBLIC RESULTS VERIFIED 2026-08-12 · PHONE CONSISTENT: 956-784-2496
RankRGV changeApprove one public-facing NAP record with Monica and Carlos. Merge or suppress true duplicates, update stale citations, and document legitimate mailing or vendor addresses so they are not changed by mistake.
Medium

Page titles and heading structure need cleanup

Six of nine sitemap titles are shorter than useful search snippets. The homepage renders two H1 elements. The privacy page uses 18 H1 elements. The page slug /services-%7C-installations-1 exposes an encoded pipe character.

LIVE CRAWL: 6 short titles · homepage 2 H1s · privacy 18 H1s · malformed service slug
RankRGV changeWrite one target and one title/H1 pair per page. Move section headings to H2/H3. Rename the service slug and 301 the old version. Preserve any URLs already earning traffic unless the gain justifies a controlled redirect.
Medium

Homepage image accessibility is incomplete

The current source contains 25 image elements and 21 have no alt attribute. Decorative images can use empty alt text, but staff, trucks, projects, logos, and equipment should have short factual descriptions.

STATIC SOURCE CHECK 2026-08-12: 21 / 25 homepage image elements without alt
RankRGV changeClassify each image as decorative or informative, add appropriate alt text, set dimensions to reduce layout shift, and replace stock media with real Cool Aid photos as they become available.
Needs replay

Intermittent button failures are client-reported, not yet reproduced

The public HTML contains phone and scheduling targets, but Monica and Carlos report that buttons fail at times. A static crawl cannot prove an intermittent interaction bug or test the form submission path.

REQUIRES: mobile Safari + mobile Chrome + desktop replay and test submissions
RankRGV changeRecord the exact failing device and action, test every call, quote, financing, and schedule control, then verify the lead arrives. Add event tracking so future failures show up in analytics.
Performance diagnosis

The server is fast. The page payload is not.

The root document responded in about 20 ms in the lab test. Most of the delay comes after that, when the browser loads a large hero video, GoDaddy scripts, two reCAPTCHA bundles, fonts, and form code.

The hero asset outweighs the rest of the page

16.2 MB

A single Getty-hosted video represents about 92% of the measured 17.6 MB transfer. Removing or replacing this asset is the fastest material speed improvement. It also reduces reliance on stock footage and gives the page room for real local proof.

Platform checkpoint: after the media and form fixes, rerun Lighthouse and compare Search Console field data. Consider migration only if the builder still blocks the performance and redirect targets.

Win Edinburg before adding cities

Cool Aid already ranks near the top of page one for several Edinburg terms. The map pack is the gap. Building McAllen and Pharr first sends effort toward harder markets while the closest market remains unfinished.

Important correction to the original suspicion: the public GBP category already shows “Air conditioning repair service,” which is appropriate. We would verify the dashboard status, secondary categories, services, service areas, and duplicate profiles before changing anything.
Edinburg service hub

Match services to real searches

AC repair, installation, maintenance, heating repair, and commercial refrigeration each need a clear Edinburg destination with proof, FAQs, and a direct call action.

City expansion

One researched city at a time

Mission, McAllen, Pharr, and the rest should receive original pages only after Edinburg tracking is stable. Each page needs local jobs, service details, and useful differences.

Spanish

Build a real bilingual path

Add Spanish versions after the Edinburg English structure is correct. Use native review, separate URLs, hreflang, Spanish navigation, and Spanish conversion tracking.

How RankRGV would handle it

A controlled 90-day correction plan

The work starts with access and measurement, then fixes the Edinburg foundation. Expansion begins only after the first market has clean signals and a locked baseline.

Phase 01

Stop the signal loss

Days 1–14
  • Lock the baselineGBP grid, organic rankings, GSC, GA4, calls, and form leads.
  • Approve the source of truthOfficial business name, address, phone, hours, license, years in business, and service claims.
  • Recover old URLsBuild and verify the 301 redirect map before more pages change.
  • Realign the homepageEdinburg title, H1, copy, internal links, and conversion path.
  • Repair schema and speedValid entity markup, no 16.2 MB hero video, one tested lead form.
Phase 02

Build the Edinburg system

Days 15–45
  • Finish GBP configurationServices, categories, description, photos, posts, UTM links, and review replies.
  • Publish service pagesStart with AC repair, installation, and commercial refrigeration based on value and demand.
  • Clean citationsMerge duplicates and update stale public addresses without touching valid mailing records.
  • Add local proofReal jobs, team photos, license, warranties, review excerpts, and Edinburg landmarks where natural.
Phase 03

Expand with evidence

Days 46–90
  • Choose the next cityUse demand, current rankings, jobs served, and distance to pick one market.
  • Launch Spanish pagesStart with the highest-value Edinburg services and native QA.
  • Build local authorityChamber membership, suppliers, community partners, and local coverage where the relationship is real.
  • Review the platform gateKeep GoDaddy if targets are met. Plan a migration only if verified limits remain.
Delivery standards

How we keep the work measurable

A ranking report alone does not prove calls. The engagement needs a clean baseline, controlled changes, and lead tracking tied to the exact page and profile that produced the inquiry.

01

One source of truth

Business facts are approved before schema, citations, or content changes go live.

02

Change log

Every URL, title, redirect, GBP edit, and citation update is recorded with a date.

03

Target and non-target checks

We verify the page we changed and confirm that existing ranking pages did not break.

04

Lead attribution

GBP links use UTMs. Calls and forms are tracked without replacing the public NAP phone in citations.

05

Biweekly proof

A short Loom update shows completed work, current movement, blockers, and the next two weeks.

06

No fake locations

Other map markets require legitimate staffed locations. Organic city pages do not pretend an office exists.

Evidence boundaries

What is verified, and what needs access

Public data can show where the problem is. Account access is required before anyone should claim the exact GBP cause or the number of organic leads.

Verified from public sources

  • Homepage targets McAllen while displaying an Edinburg address
  • Robots, sitemaps, canonicals, HTTPS, and current URL responses
  • Valid LocalBusiness schema with a broken image reference and unrelated generated @id
  • Four sampled legacy URLs return 404
  • Mobile Lighthouse lab metrics and the 16.2 MB video request
  • Public map-pack grid and organic ranking samples
  • Old and duplicate address records in public directories

Requires client or account access

  • GBP status, ownership, secondary categories, services, and hidden duplicates
  • Search Console index coverage, legacy URL clicks, queries, and backlinks
  • GA4 traffic, landing pages, conversion events, and channel attribution
  • Actual form delivery, missed calls, and 1–3 weekly inbound-call baseline
  • Official address rules for vendor, mailing, and public location records
  • Founded year, license format, guarantees, and emergency-service claims
  • Intermittent button failure reproduction by device and browser
First seven actions

Confirm the official business facts

Name, Edinburg address, phone, hours, license, service radius, and years in business.

Day 1

Open GBP, GSC, GA4, and GoDaddy access

Read-only baseline first, edit access after the target list is approved.

Day 1

Build the legacy redirect inventory

Recover indexed pages before another redesign or slug change removes more history.

Week 1

Move the homepage back to Edinburg

Align title, H1, copy, schema, contact facts, and internal links with the physical location.

Week 1

Remove the 16.2 MB hero video

Retest mobile performance after media, form, and script cleanup.

Week 1

Repair the entity schema

Validate the replacement markup after render and confirm one stable business identity.

Week 1

Resolve public address conflicts

Start with the duplicate Yellow Pages records, then work through the approved citation inventory.

Week 2
Recommended next step

Finish the current contract cleanly, then take control of the foundation.

Before any handoff, confirm the remaining balance, export Google Search Console and analytics access, preserve the current website content, and collect the full URL list. RankRGV can then fix the Edinburg foundation without losing more search history.
